Jen Nudd | Founder of Beacon Hill Candle Company

Jen Nudd is the heart and hands behind Beacon Hill Candle Company, based in the picturesque town of Okotoks, Alberta. Originally from New Brunswick, Jen’s life bridges two breathtaking Canadian landscapes: the rugged coastlines of the Maritimes and the rolling foothills of the Rocky Mountains—an east-to-west journey that inspired the name Beacon Hill.

The “Beacon” pays homage to the iconic lighthouses of her coastal roots—symbols of guidance, hope, and home. Both of Jen’s grandfathers were fishermen, and her childhood was shaped by the rhythms of the sea and the steadfast glow of those guiding lights. The name also reflects her desire to be a light in her community, shining with faith and love as she shares the light of Jesus in all she does.

The “Hill” represents Jen’s Alberta home—where she has lived for over 20 years, and where Beacon Hill Candle Company was born, nestled in the serene foothills of the Rockies.

For 32 years, Jen has shared life with her husband Glen, a pastor in Calgary. Together, they’ve raised two wonderful adult children: Jared, who is married to Brook and dad to their young son Rhett, and Jamie, who is married to Tom.

Candles have always held a special place in Jen’s heart. She believes scent has a beautiful way of stirring memory and emotion—inviting peace, nostalgia, and joy. At Beacon Hill Candle Company, each candle is hand-poured with care using pure soy wax and premium fragrance oils that are phthalate- and paraben-free.

Jen’s creative vision is rooted in simple, sensitive sophistication—crafting products that are both beautiful and meaningful, always made with integrity.
